CORNERSTONE®
: ACCESS CONTROL
"Protect
high security environments with absolute confidence and
efficiency"
Lost or stolen access cards, forgotten passwords or
pin codes, fraud and human error, can all diminish the
protection offered by traditional security systems.
Cornerstone® Access Control Functionality
|
The Cornerstone® Access Control functionality Access
uses the unparalleled identification capabilities of the
human iris to eliminate these potential weaknesses and
maximise physical access control in virtually any
environment. The iris is the most unique, measurable
characteristic in the human body, more so than
fingerprints, voice and even DNA. So unique is the iris,
that the probability of 2 irises being alike is 1 in 10
to the power of 78. This makes iris Access Control the
only solution which can offer you 100% confidence in the
security of your premises
In addition to providing unmatched accuracy of
identification, Cornerstone Access Control virtually
eliminates the ongoing costs associated with most
traditional access systems. The iris is
non-transferable, and cannot be lost, stolen or
duplicated like prox cards or access codes. Gartner
estimates that the administration of such systems costs
organisations $100's per user per year.

Access Control Defined
|
Cornerstone's Access Control functionality
allows you to manage and implement rules that
determine when, where and how a particular user
or group can gain access.
Time Groups and Device Groups form the main
part of this functionality – you must first
define a Time Group that determines when access
will be granted. Similarly, a Device Group
determines where and how access is granted. A
device group specifies what hardware (iris
scanner, fingerprint reader etc) will allow the
user or group access.
Enrolment Groups are also used within Access
Control to determine which users these rules
apply to. Furthermore, Cornerstone incorporates
an anti-passback feature which prevents one user
from giving access to another. |

Visitor Functionality
|
High risk environments such as prisons and
detention centres have unique security
requirements in terms of prisoner, visitor and
employee management.
Cornerstone's Visitor functionality uses Iris
Recognition, the most accurate human
authentication biometric available, to deliver a
physical access control solution designed
specifically for maximum security environments.
By establishing a series of 'logical gates'
which can only be progressed through in
sequence, users have complete control over
visitor movements. Additionally, real time
reports can be generated showing exactly who is
in the facility and where they are.
This functionality within Cornerstone
improves visitor flow rate and reduces the
administrative costs of managing visitor access
via an automated reporting and alerting system.
The unparalleled accuracy of Iris Recognition
also ensures the prevention of identity fraud or
the establishment of multiple identities. |
