VALENCIA
FACIAL DETECTION SOFTWARE
Argus
secured from the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial
Organisation (CSIRO) facial detection software
designed to function in surveillance and database
search modes.
With
strong government demand for the integration of
two or more biometrics being combined in a security
solution, Argus is looking to have its new face
detection software (marketed as "Valencia")
function with its iris recognition solutions as
well as in a stand alone capacity.
|
The
Valencia software emphasises those sections of
the face that are less susceptible to alteration
such as the upper outlines of the eye sockets,
areas surrounding the cheekbones and the sides
of the mouth. The
facial image requires 1-2 seconds of capture when
the subject is voluntarily providing an image
and 4-5 seconds in order, for example, to detect
faces at a distance in a crowd.
Valencia
is camera agnostic and can run on any standard
video surveillance system.
However
we recommend the Panasonic SDIII camera
which we usually deliver as part of the
Valencia package.
The
Panasonic WV-CP480 series Super Dynamic
III Plus cameras are equipped with Auto
Back Focus (ABF). When these cameras switch
from colour to B/W mode, the cameras automatically
make micron-order adjustments in CCD position
to achieve precise back focus. The new Auto
Back Focus (ABF) technology ensures delivery
of clear, sharp, perfectly focused image
24-hours a day, automatically.
For
Valencia this helps ensure a greater degree
of constancy of the lighting conditions,
in turn improving the speed of response
and likelihood of a match.
